Introducing the Straight Fab Torus

Mothership Glass recently released the Straight Fab Torus production model for February 2018.
Ever since it's inception in 2012, renowned functional glass art company Mothership Glass has been known for pushing the envelope in innovation and design. Each production model offers a high level of unique function along with precision ingenuity, making Mothership Glass one of the most sought after production companies in the functional glass industry.
Recently, Mothership surprised their fans and collectors with the release of a brand new production model that pushes the boundaries of function even further. This model is the Mothership Glass Straight Fab Torus Recycler.
This Straight Fab Torus had been rumored to be released for a couple of months prior. A couple retailers received a Straight Fab Torus early as part of their drop over the course of February, but yesterday, February 26, 2018, Mothership Glass officially announced this model as part of their production line. It was officially introduced in a premium frosted variation on their site as part of a surprise Online Flash Drop.
The Straight Fab Torus combines the Swiss Perc 'Fab Holes' found on the Mothership Straight Fab Fixie (or Str8 Fab Fixie) and Mothership Fab Egg (aka Mothership Faberge Egg) models with the recycling and diffusing function of the Mothership Torus model. It features a 5 mini-seed of life perc/diffuser at the bottom of the recycling drain.
Air is pulled up and out of the 5 mini-seeds, then up through the swiss perc fab holes, and lastly out through the mouthpiece. Water follows the same path except it drains back down the recycling 'funnel' in the center as air releases upward through the mouthpiece.
The Mothership Glass Straight Fab Torus find's its roots from the original Torus Plus prototype, produced in 2012. At the time, the regular production Torus featured an hour-glass-shape design. The Torus Plus had to be modified into somewhat of a straight can and the fab holes had to be incorporated. In the video below, one can see the rudimentary design and shaping of the Torus Plus.
Mothership Glass was a brand new company and they were still getting the basic production of their pieces down at the time the Torus Plus Prototype was created. Pieces were larger than they are now and the basic shaping was not as crisp and concise as one would find today.
The basic production Torus model has been refined a good amount over the course of the past 5 years. The can is now straight (instead of hour-glass shaped), the 5 Seed of Life perc has been refined and the seeds are now considered 'mini-seeds', and glassblower skill and technique has evolved, allowing more precise and efficient production.
All of these changes with the Torus along with the innovation that has taken place in the glassblowing industry over the course of the past 5 years have allowed the Torus Plus to come to life as Mothership Glass's newest production model for 2018: the Mothership Glass Straight Fab Torus.
