The 2015 Illadelph Glass Oil Vaporizer Pen - Preview

Recently we here at AllGlass.com were able to get a our hands on the brand new Illadelph Glass Vaporizer Pen, slated for release in Spring 2015. 

 

 

From the moment I got my fist look at this thing out of the package, I could see this was much different of a pen than most existing oil pens in the marketplace today. 

 

 

 

 

Handling the pen out of the box and putting it together was simple and self explanatory. The Illadelph Glass handblown chamber with attached mouthpiece slides very easily but securely onto the battery using Illadelph's innovative non-joint-freeze airtight o-ring design (also found on their coil condenser waterpipes). This pen is designed for concentrates/oil and will not function properly with dry herb.

 

 

To start the pen, tap the button 5 times. Various colored LEDs shine through the button on the side of the pen to indicate the pen is now on.

 

 

 

 

The build quality of the Vision Spinner II battery on the back end is superb. It has a nice solid weight to it and all the mechanisms on it seem put together with superior quality. What is special about this battery that you do not see on most oil/concentrate vaporizing pens is that it has an adjustable power output. This is also known as a 'mod' or a modifiable output device.

 

 

 

The battery can be adjusted between 4 power settings: 3.3V, 3.8V, 4.3V, and 4.8V. Adjusting the voltage will control how much and how quickly your oil/concentrate will vaporize.

 

 

 

The handblown glass chamber is very consistent throughout. The one we received is the transparent black glass color Illadelph Glass offers with a variety of their other products. It feels like extremely solid borosilicate and ours came with a nice matte black Illadelph label down the side. It houses what seems to be a high (maybe medical) grade plastic mouthpiece. At first I was a little weary of why there would be plastic on the end of this fine piece, but it definitely holds up to the value of the Illadelph Glass name. The mouthpiece is very sturdy and firmly molded into the glass chamber.

 

 

 

 

Something I was fortunate to exclusively check out from the man Luca (founder and owner of Illadelph Glass) himself is the Illadelph Glass freezable glycerin coil attachment for the Illadelph Vape Pen. This is set to be released alongside the vaporizer pen, estimated for Spring 2015. 

 

 

 

 

Luca filled up the pen and I tried it with the prototype coil attachment; it being a specially labeled and matte scoped Killadelph Vaporizer Coil of course.

 

 

 

 

With the power turned up to 4.3V, hitting the pen was extremely smooth but the size of the hit was massive. Using the coil attachment not only made a smooth hit, but also added volume to the pen. I never knew an oil pen could pack such a punch!

 

 

 

 

I was told by Luca that this prototype Killadelph vape coil was not the final version. He told me the final version will look better and more refined. The end opposite the mouthpiece will be tooled for a much cleaner, consistent finish.

 

 

 

 

 

The new Illadelph Glass concentrate pen consists of 3 main parts: The battery mod, the handblown Illadelph labeled glass chamber mouthpiece, and the ceramic dish heating element.

 

The ceramic dish heating element is large in size and looks like it can hold a lot of contents. From the 3-piece design of the pen, it looks like the ceramic element can easily be replaced after heavy use or if any accidental damage occurs.

 

 

 

 

Out of the package, you get everything to take your Illadelph Glass Vape Pen on the go. It comes with:

• The rechargeable battery mod
• The handblown glass chamber
• The ceramic dish heating element
• The USB charging cable
• The USB wall charging adapter
•  The carrying pouch with all the appropriate pockets to hold all of the above

 

 

 

 

 

Illadelph Glass ceases to amaze me with all the innovations and technology they have introduced into the smoking marketplace over the last 13 years; this state of the art vaporizer oil pen from them is looking to follow suit.

 

As Illadelph Glass has recently entered the oil/concentrate market in the past year, I am really excited to see their first concentrate pen released and what else they have in store for us for the future!
